Want to go back...

Around Easter it was 1 year since I were in Ethiopia!! One year! Somehow to think that it´s now a year ago seems a bit surreal! - I loved being there!!:D And I wish to be able to sometime, somehow go back again! Maybe not back to the "injerra", but definetly back to the people, the culture, the friendliness and openness!! Back to the "dabo" and the "oa" and the "denane", "denanesh", "dena". And maybe also back to see "Mr. Wonderful!" ;)

It´s actually now a year ago since:

* I got SICK sun-burned after "forgetting" my sun-lotion on our day-off

* I tasted "injerra" for the first time

* I was called "frenge" dayly

* Seeing blue and white Toyota-busses with almost more people outside than inside was considered completely normal

* "YWAM" got a whole new meaning

* I saw someone faint for the first time (twice)

* I travelled with BA for the first time

* I had wear pants (trousers, jeans) under skirts - and I loved it!:)

Silent Night

Today it´s snowing! I think we must have at least 10-15 cm snow outside. It´s crazy! We are mostly staying inside; planning, "surfing", eating, sleeping... Maybe not the best... Yesterday Kasper went to a training- and swimming centre at 7.30 PM. (!) When he came back we watched "Goodbye Bafana"; it was our day off! Today Tanya got to a call saying she has gotten employed in a real-estate company (part-time)! An answer to prayer!!:D

A New Life

The church that we´re starting here in Gothenburg comes out from and is like the new branch to a church in Stockholm called New Life Stockholm. (www.newlife.nu). This church has a clear and strong focus on being personal and multicultural!! That it´s important to integrate and not segregate!

New Life Göteborg, which is the name, is located in Bellevue; a part of Gotehnborg which lies in between a wealthy-Swedish area and a diverse immigrant area. A challenge but also something that can be very good!:D

A new life, in a way - hence the green color!! ;)

Personal

Today Tanya (whom Kasper and I are living together with here) were in charge of todays "Faith Factory". It´s a "event" that takes place every other Saturday, where "kids" from 9-14 can come, have fun, buy "korv" ("hot dog") and also get some Godly input. We decided to have a drama-performance and asked some of the kids we´ve gotten to know if they would like to join. I than did my best in trying to show and teach them the: "God is personal" -drama! I´ve never been a "being-up-in-front-doing-drama" -person, but it went good and they were AMAZING!!:D Afterwards I was suppose to tell about the drama, but I was suddenly struggling to find the right words to use... I was speaking in English and a young girl was translating me. "God wants to be personal and live life together with you!"

The last couple of Sunday-services (and also our first 20-30ies and teen-age cell-group) the topic has been:Worship! What is worship? What does "it"; the word mean to us (what do we associate it with?) On our first cell-group for teen-agers I asked if painting, taking pictures and skating could be ways of worship? They answered yes to the two first, but were a bit unsure on the last. "What is it about skate-boarding that skateboarders like so much?" I asked. And a girl answered: "They like to... die!" ;) Later a guy in the group said out loud: "Everything for and/or with Jesus, is worship!" Sidetrack: It´s just totally, profounldy, awesomely AMAZING when you hear stuff like that!!! :D :D... ...

Sorry about this not constructed message. Battery is running low, it´s late, it takes a long time to get into internet. A tree so delightful

Never have I ever seen a tree so delightful, yet so viciously red! Scared with my sin in doings - not your will but my prayer is "God, let..."

May I be the one who you created, may your words about me come true. Not for my sake but for your glory; may my whole life depend on you!

Harpenden - YWAM

Jeg befinner meg nå på en NYDELIG UiO-base i Harpenden, England - like utafor London. Basen er stor og grønn (selv i Januar), og det veldig "inviterende"! Det er sikkelig digg å se hvordan andre UiO-baser, i andre land, fungerer! Hva vi gjør er: undervisning, oppgaver ("lekser"), og praktiske ting, som bl.a. å pusse opp rommet som vi bruker til undervisning!!

Mer nytt vil komme senere... :)


I´m now staying at a BEAUTIFUL YWAM-base in Harpenden, England - not far from London. The base is quite big and green (even in January), and very "inviting"! It´s really nice to get the opportunity to see how other YWAM-bases, in other countries, work! What we do is: Teching, tasks ("homework"), and other practical stuff - like renovating the room we use for teaching!!

More news will come alter... :)

Obs! Ikke misforstå! Gud er ikke en ”teddybjørn-Gud”, som vi kan ha i lomma og ta fram når det passer! Som alltid er myk og kosete, og ikke noe annet! ... Men tingen er at Gud er så sykt mye mer for oss enn vi noensinne kan kunne forestille oss og ser ikke så mye på det vi ser (aller mest) på; ”feil” og annet stæsj, som tar så sykt mye av vår energi og ”tanke-plass”!!

Mener ikke å ta vers ut av sammenheng, men i Bibelen (Salmene) ett sted står det: ”Når Gud er med (for) oss, hvem kan da være imot oss?”

Holdinger tar tid å forandre – men kanskje vi bør begynne å innprente sannhet i stedet for ”fakta”! Se oss selv med Guds øyne!!

Expectations vs. Life

Soon I'm beginning my last week on the SoE before Christmas!! It's weird to think about how much that has actually happened and how fast the time has gone by!... Next week we're having John van Dinter in "church-planting"! I'm excited, both because of that and the fact that he's going to be Kaspers and my Outreach-contact-person while we're 3 months in Gothenburg! (We kind of "have to" get along!... Ops!...;).)

The girl on the picture is a DTS-student from the UK. She's an amazing person; she spreads a lot of joy and "optimistic-ness"!;) She's honest, true and she has definitely one of the most charming dialects!!!:D


This "school" has been different than expected, but I realize that it is good it happened like that! I need to see that things are more "real" than my expectations and thoughts about how it's going to be!... I can't prepare for everything before it comes - I need to learn to live in the moment!(!)


This Jonathan; Laila's boyfriend and also a DTS-student!! He started this year by saying: "To insult someone is a way of building a relationship with that person!"... ;) hehe... He's a good friend! I like how he thinks about things, his heart for God and his humor!! :D


One thing I've been working on these last weeks is I need to "cut off" all the focus I easily have on myself, and be totally (!) focusing on others!! It has been hard, but the things that are starting to show now is better than what was!... I still mess it up, but I'm (hopefully) on the right way!!... ;)

This is our Estonian DTS-student; Timo! He met a YWAM Skien team a few years back, when they were in Estonia, and now he's here!;) He's truly gifted in music, and in making songs without any meaning! He also has a heart for more of God, and a really cool sense of humor! ...
